Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a very common disorder, affecting 55% of Americans over the age of 50, with a higher incidence in women (80% of the 55% affected). It is believed that one in three women and one in twelve men worldwide, over the age of 50 have osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is responsible for millions of bone fractures each year, with wrist, hip, lumbar vertebrae and rib fractures being the most common.
